Reporting to the CEO and a member of the Management Team, this role will be expected to:

Provide legal advice and manage a wide range of legal work in support of our business leaders in both Canada and the US;
Draft, negotiate, review, and interpret complex commercial agreements and RFPs;
Oversee corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture structuring and other transactions;
Provide accurate, efficient, and timely support to business stakeholders and colleagues in all functional areas of the business;
Advise on legal compliance and risk management; and
Engage and oversee external counsel as required.

Qualifications:

Current member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario or Alberta
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a corporate/commercial practice, in a law firm and/or inhouse environment
Knowledge of the energy and technology sectors an asset but not required
