    Role Summary

    MASSIV Automated Systems, an advanced technology-based division of Magna International Inc., specializes in the design and build of automated/robotic assembly lines for the automotive industry. Our areas of expertise include hemming (robotic and table top), laser welding, and assembly line welding. Our customers include other divisions within Magna and the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) such as General Motors, Chrysler and Ford.

    We are a true global supplier to the automotive industry Our assembly lines provide a diverse range of automotive products such as doors, hoods, liftgates and underbody parts to customers in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Asia and Europe.

    The Industrial Mechanic is responsible for carrying out routine maintenance of the equipment and services, including conducting regular inspections.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Carry out routine maintenance of the equipment (Borring mills/Cnc machines)
    • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of Crane, Forklift, Lighting Systems, Paint booth, etc.
    • Maintain records of repair and corrective actions carried out on the equipment and service
    • Implement and manage preventative maintenance schedule for all systems
    • Liaise with external contractors (HVAC, Sprinkler System, Fire Extinguishers, Plant Alarm System, Water System, Crane, Forklift)
    • Responsible for maintenance of all other plant equipment (welders, grinders, drill presses, lathes, mills, etc)
    • Work closely with Joint Health and Safety, Environment and Spill Response Teams
    • Ensure all safety hazards, defective equipment or unsafe situations are addressed immediately
    • Know how to properly lockout all energy sources, including stored energy
    • Open and lock plant when required
    • Perform Toolmaker duties when required (machining, Assembling and Troubleshooting)
    • Other reasonable duties as assigned

    Key Qualifications/Requirements

    • Trouble shooting with problem solving skills on hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and water systems
    • Operating knowledge of all equipment and machines in mechanical department
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Must have own tools
    • Excellent working knowledge of facility
    • 433A Trade license an asset
    • Knowledge of new technologies and regulations to assist in job
