    Under the general supervision of the Vice President of Sales and Corporate Sponsorship, this position will be responsible for leading the merchandising operations for the Regina Pats Hockey Club . The Director of Merchandise will develop, lead and implement merchandising strategies, to drive merchandise operations for the club.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, lead and execute merchandising strategies
  • Provide strategic procurement, sourcing, and purchasing of all merchandise for the club
  • Negotiate and implement vendor agreements
  • Negotiate product and shipping prices
  • Manage and elevate existing vendor relationships while identifying and developing potential new vendors
  • Source out and partner with local retailers to cross merchandize Regina Pats branded merchandise
  • Monitor vendor performance based on service, pricing, on-time delivery, quality and quantity of product
  • Analyze retail store and e-commerce sales and adjust product offerings accordingly based on revenue generating products
  • Work cross-functionally to develop merchandise strategies across Marketing and Digital Media, Game Day and Fan Experience, and Ticket Operations
  • Manage business enablers including financial, profit and loss, budget, expenses, and cash to drive sales to meet organizational budgets,
  • Accountable for every aspect of the retail store and e-commerce store performances
  • Responsible for hiring, coaching, and developing a strong Store Manager and all members of the retail team, including the development of policy and procedures
  • Execute retail store product strategy, including product operations and inventory management
  • Retail partner development in Regina and surrounding areas
  • Other duties as required, including but not limited to assisting in all home game operations, and Pats events, along with periodic scheduled shifts in the retail store to work alongside the retail team

    Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 2 years retail or sales specific management experience
  • 1 year people management experience
  • Previous experience in merchandising, including purchasing product, managing inventory, pricing strategy, and visual merchandising
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Highly analytic and detail orientated
  • Strategic business thinker who is results driven
  • Ability to work cross functionally and deliver multiple strategies across an organization
