Rate of Pay:
$150 per program day (biweekly on Saturdays)

The Compassion, Acceptance, Respect, Empathy (C.A.R.E.) Program.

C.A.R.E. is one of the programs offered by Low Entropy, a charity making personal development accessible to all.

The C.A.R.E.

Program is our community-centric program created to meet the basic necessities needed to propel individuals and families to be self-sufficient and become ambassadors of change.

This program addresses the need for food and essential items for families and individuals in need.

At Low Entropy, we recognize that putting food on the table is just grazing the surface.

Our goal is to come alongside the families in our community to build meaningful, compassionate connections to facilitate real sustainable solutions.

C.A.R.E.

will be running every other Saturday, to provide food hampers to low-income individuals and families in the Maple Ridge area.

Volunteers assist with food sorting, hamper packing, and deliveries of the food hampers to clients.


C.A.R.E.

Food Manager (Maple Ridge):

The C.A.R.E.

Food Manager will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the biweekly food hampers, including receiving food, sorting and packing hampers, and hamper delivery; in addition to scheduling and supervising volunteer sorters/packers and delivery drivers.


Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate all aspects of the C.A.R.E. program
  • Schedule and supervise the following volunteers: sorters/packers & delivery drivers
  • Liaise with community partners to organize and receive food
  • Coordinate delivery schedules to clients
  • Clean up of the packing site
  • Drop off excess food at shelters
  • Drop off waste and recycling to the nearest facility
  • Liaise between all stakeholders and resolve any complaints or grievances put forth by families, partners, volunteers, or other stakeholders
  • Meet goals and objectives for the program set forth by the Co-Executive Directors
  • Meet with the Co-Executive Directors regularly to provide updates, seek guidance, and to ensure work is aligned with program objectives
  • Develop and maintain a database of files and folders to keep track of all program information
  • Provide volunteer appreciation through thank you cards, certificates, and references.
  • Additional tasks or duties as requested or assigned by the Director of Programs or the Executive Director.

What You Bring:


  • Minimum 1 year experience leading a team
  • Must have a Driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Experience with program coordination or project management
  • Experience engaging with community members
  • Experience managing volunteers
  • Tech savvy
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment
  • A focused and highly organized skillset with a resultsoriented attitude
  • Confident verbal and written communication skills
  • Takes initiative and asks good questions
