In this newly created role, as the sole US Benefits Specialist on the North American team, you will administer and manage all US benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short
- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan. Additionally, this role will also focus on developing and enhancing existing programs and administration processes for business optimization and improved employee experience.


Your key responsibilities will be to:
Assist with administering 401(k) regulatory compliance items, such as annual Plan Audit, 5500 filing, true-up match contributions, and Non-Discrimination testing
Lead the research, analysis, revision, design, and implementation of employee benefit programs, plan renewals, annual open enrolment, plan integrations, and new technology
Liaise with Finance and Payroll to perform monthly reconciliation of invoices

On top of that, you will have:
A minimum of 5 years' experience handling US Medical and Supplemental Benefits in multiple states
Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws (ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPPA, ADA, etc.)
Great attention to detail, with a process focus and systematic thinking
Experience setting up benefits administration processes and policies with a focus on efficiencies and automation (previous experience with mergers, acquisitions, and plan integrations considered an asset)
Good written and verbal English communication, organizational, and time management skills
Ability to work independently, self-starter, and a skilled relationship builder
