Your Opportunity:
AHS entered a 3-year contract with the Institute for Healthcare Optimization (IHO) to improve surgical flow at the sites representing 90% of surgical volume across Alberta.
The IHO initiative is site based with 6 urban sites across all 5 Zones participating in the first 18 months and 11 sites participating in the following 18 months.
The overarching role of the Project Manager (PM) will be twofold. Firstly, to support Sites through the IHO process. Secondly, to support coordination between AHS and the IHO.Aligning to the Alberta Surgical Initiative, the PM will report to the Director of Surgery Central Zone, work directly with the IHO, identified site resources, and identified physician participants.
The Clinical Project Manager is accountable and responsible for:Project Management (scoping, planning, implementation, and evaluation) for the IHO project, in collaboration with, teams and services across the Central Zone.
Supporting strategic, operational and surgical flow planning for the IHO initiative, projects, teams and services across the zone, including analysis; identification of goals, objectives, strategies, tactics, and performance targets; implementation, and ongoing monitoring and evaluation.
Support and maintenance of ongoing Alberta Surgical Initiatives across complex matrix of programs and sites.Drive and lead patient and provider experience contribution with new and existing programming that aligns with the Central Zone and Provincial portfolios.
Supporting risk management and quality and safety activities Supporting the Director of Surgery and Sr. Project Manager to meet operational needs of IHO initiative and support operational and clinical programming across the zone.Description:

Required Qualifications:
Post-secondary degree in a health care profession, business or related field Relevant project management specific education, training, or certification in project management from an accredited institution.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional designation in project management (e.g. Project Management Professional designation). 3 years of experience working in a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Experience working directly with clinicians; comfortable communicating with physicians, other health care professionals and executives. Experience leading project teams and large projects within a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity and diversity.
