About the College


Toronto Business College is a private career college that has partnered with an Ontario College of Arts and Technology to offer programs to international students in the GTA.

Our goal is to provide our students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to thrive in the increasingly dynamic workforce.

We strive to offer the most relevant programs and integrate hands-on learning experiences into every class to best equip our students to succeed.


Position Summary


The incumbent will engage in outreach to companies throughout the province, but especially in the GTA, providing information about the college's programs and co-op work terms.

Our students come from Canada internationally with the aim of completing our college programs and securing co-op positions where applicable, and part-time positions throughout their studies, and permanent roles post
- graduation. By analyzing a comprehensive network of companies that are interested in working with our college and posting jobs for students, we can filter and provide convenient services to both students and local companies.


Duties and Responsibilities

1. Prospect for new employers and maintain good relationships with current employers to meet the co
- op and employment needs of our students. This role is critical in ensuring students secure relevant positions.


3. Conducting site visits for all high-profile cases to ensure quality assurance and maintain quality standards.


4. Act as a liaison between companies and the college, facilitating the exchange of advice to ensure we provide students with the best training and support for employability.


5. Develop marketing strategies to support industry outreach and promote our college programs.


6. Maintain an employer database that offers a range of employment opportunities relevant to all college programs to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.


7. Collaborate with the Career Services team to match students with suitable employment opportunities.


8. Coordinate job fairs, recruitment days, and networking events on and off campus and host specific well-defined sessions for student's co-op openings.


9. Other duties as assigned.


General Competencies

  • Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office Suite; previous experience using a database program (an asset)
  • Effective research skills utilizing Internet.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong attention to detail and followup.
  • Able to work independently with mínimal supervision and to take initiative.
  • Ability to take direction and flexibility to quickly implement ongoing program changes and coop requirements.
  • Have a sound understanding of employmentrelated legislation and issues.
  • Knowledge of local labour market, the impact of COVID19 on the labour market, workplace practices and job search strategies.
  • Knowledge on online communication platforms, techniques and tools (e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
  • Must possess a positive attitude, ability to work with a diverse and international student body, and strong work ethic.
  • Strong record keeping and documentation skills.
  • Ability to foster an effective, interpersonal, cooperative work relationship with peers.

Educational Requirements and Experience

  • Completion of a postsecondary education in social services, employment/career counselling, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Minimum of 1 year related experience.
  • Proven experience handling a large caseload and working with international students (a definite asset).

Additional Notes & Important Requirements

  • Some evening and weekend work may be required.
  • Must have a valid Ontario drivers' license and uptodate vehicle insurance for occasional travel outside the office.
