Description


Having a pulse on the organization, the HR/EDI Advisor works with management and employees to build and sustain strong relationships and drive HR and EDI strategies.

The incumbent is a key contributor in the development and evolution of HR and EDI programs, policies and initiatives ensuring alignment with the respective goals and objectives of the organization.


Responsibilities
- (This is not a complete list):_

  • Identifies needs; develops, delivers, and facilitates training, workshops, seminars/webinars, and assessments.
  • Collaborates with the EDI Working Group to support and promote the advancement of EDI strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Works in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to drive EDI goals.
  • Utilizes expertise in EDI legislation and regulations to ensure legal compliance.
  • Works with leadership at all levels to influence practices and processes that support an inclusive work environment.
  • Assists with the design and implementation of key performance indicators, timebound metrics, monitoring, and reporting systems to effectively benchmark best practices, organizational progress and impact in EDI.
  • Develops and conducts surveys to identify needs and trends.
  • Develops and maintains job descriptions and related job capsules in accordance with the pay equity strategy
  • Participates in health and safety initiatives and investigations
  • Provides guidance, coaching, intervention, and followup on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, attendance management, performance management, workforce planning, policy interpretation, and communication.
  • Works with the Director, HR to investigate and document workplace issues and develop a plan of action.
  • Coordinates physician academic appointments as directed.

Qualifications

  • University degree Human Resources Management or equivalent
  • Formal EDI professional qualification, training, or certification is a strong asset
  • CHRL designation
  • CCIP (Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional) an asset
  • 57 years previous experience working as a Human Resource Generalist, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of EDI practices, policies, processes and evaluation tools.
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to deliver a wide variety of presentations to diverse populations.
  • Strong written communication, proofreading, and editing skills required to draft or generate correspondence or documents.
  • Strong prioritisation and timemanagement skills are required to manage tight deadlines, constant change and multiple priorities.
  • Ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships with professionalism and integrity.
  • Must be able to problemsolve and work well under stress with mínimal supervision.
  • High level of initiative, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to work autonomously while in a team environment, maintaining a pleasant disposition in a complex working environment.
  • Proficiency in speaking and comprehending both English and French (Level B+) is an asset.
