- Lead Budgeting Process: Manage operations budgeting for designated departments, utilizing forecasting models and analyzing historical data to guide financial planning.
- Project Budget Support: Assist project teams in developing budgets by clarifying project scope, creating work breakdown structures, and consolidating cost estimates.
- Budget Monitoring and Analysis: Regularly monitor actual performance against budgets for both operations and projects, updating forecasts as needed and analyzing cost variances to identify and mitigate deviations.
- Reporting and Communication: Generate regular progress and cost reports on a monthly and quarterly basis, as well as additional reports as requested, to analyze trends and issues. Communicate with key stakeholders to ensure awareness of budget-related matters.
- Supply Chain and Contractor Management: Support the supply chain team by managing contractor payments, reviewing contract change orders, and validating vendor payment certificates. Develop and report key performance indicators for productivity, progress, and cost.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a project control and/or cost analysis environment with a finance and/or engineering background.
- Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge and experience using SAP would be an asset.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, with in depth knowledge and skill level of Word and Excel.
- Experience in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Power BI are assets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and business acumen.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage tight deadlines and competing priorities.
- Good judgment, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Demonstrated success in building trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the local community, indigenous groups, employees, colleagues, and service providers/contractors.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing cost control, analysis, and forecasting for multiple projects and/or operational departments. Your cost control and analysis expertise will allow you to ensure that the site costs, forecasts, and production/project schedules are tracked accurately and in a timely fashion. You will contribute to the development and regular updates of reports and forecasts to provide financial insight for management personnel.
Duties include:
Hours of work will be 5 Days On / 2 Days Off (8 hr work days) or 4 Days On / 3 Days Off (10 hour work days)- Flexible start and end times. This will be in office local to Kamloops. Must live locally to Kamloops or relocation is required.
Salary: Open to wage negotiations based on experience and qualifications.
