Potential for hybrid work model (2 days remote work/week) after completing probationary period

***: The L&D Specialist will support the planning, scoping, and organizing of learning courses and events, act as the Learning Management System (LMS) administrator, coordinate learning and development programs, assist in developing and delivering programs, work with employees and leaders, and actively participate in ad hoc projects.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide support to the Learning and Development area to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, timely and accurately to meet unit and company goals and objectives
  • Support the development and implementation of programs and/or initiatives that will encourage diversity, promote equity, and support development for all employees
  • Be responsible for developing and coordinating training schedules, coordinate training logistics, venues, communicate with vendors, trainees, supervisors, and management, ensure the training program curriculum is current and up to date through an evaluation program. Support corporate and divisional learning and development goals and initiatives
  • Act as a steward over trainees and internal and external facilitators guiding them through the training process
  • Prepare and track invoices, including funds allocated for professional development and suppliers. Support the annual budget development and reconciliation process

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:


  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business, or Communications
  • Bilingual (or near bilingual) in French and English
  • 24 years of relevant work experience in a Human Resources department
  • Knowledge of instructional design approaches, instruction methodologies, and learnercentric design and learning solutions and new developments
  • Quick learner, detailoriented with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Prior experience working as an LMS administrator preferred
  • Prior experience hosting and producing virtual workshops preferred
  • Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to support projects and initiatives, collaborative team player
  • Customercentric mindset coupled with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build relationships and rapport quickly and deliver outstanding internal and external customer service
