SERVICE SPECIALIST
Full-Time Permanent Position - In Scope

Competition# MCFSA-SS

Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, 37.5 hours weekly

Classification and Salary:
SP5 $64,721 - $87,851 annually


Location:
Winnipeg, MB

Vacation: 4 Weeks' Vacation + 3 Wellness days per year


Under the direction of the Director of Service (DOS) and working collaboratively with the Metis Child and Family Services Authority (MCFSA) Service team, the Service Specialist is required to carry out service and administrative support duties related to a broad range of MCFSA functions including completion of reports, briefing and communications materials, and serving in a supportive capacity to other services and administrative staff.

The Service Specialist engages in ongoing research and planning with other MCFSA and Agency staff to help advance Metis-specific programs and services.


A University Degree in Social Sciences, Bachelor of Social Work is preferred along with knowledge of Child and Family Services specifically with respect to the AJI-CWI and mandated agencies' foundations of service, An Act Respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, youth and families however an alternate combination of education and experience may be considered.

Intermediate-level computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required, along with the ability to maintain highly sensitive and confidential information.


Prior to commencing employment, the successful applicant will be asked to provide satisfactory results of a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, a Child Abuse Registry Check, and a Prior Contact Check upon hire at their own expense. A valid Manitoba driver's license and the use of a personal vehicle are requisites as travel within and outside the city are required.
