Scope of the Position:


Reporting to the PMO Director, the IT Project Manager Infrastructure will lead several projects related to the delivery of various infrastructure and technology improvement projects.

This role requires proven prior experience managing infrastructure and/or security projects and the ability to manage multiple workflows and complex projects.

The IT Project Manager Infrastructure is responsible for establishing and maintaining standards for project management and the SDLC throughout the lifecycle of all projects within IT and the organization.

The IT Project Manager Infrastructure defines and maintains the processes and guiding principles that ensure the success of projects that meet the priorities and objectives of Sonepar Canada Inc.

As a member of the PMO team, the IT Project Manager Infrastructure delivers value throughout the whole lifecycle of each project.


Sonepar's infrastructure and security systems include state-of-the-art data centers, whether on-premises, in branch offices, on cloud-based solutions (Azure) as well as SaaS solutions, interconnected in a wide area network, multiple headquarters and distribution centers.


Responsibilities:

Become a business partner. Manage business and 3rd party relationships throughout the life cycle of each project and be the point of contact between them and IT. Act as an escalation point when issues arise with resources / services and manages any disputes or conflicts.

Monitoring and Control projects. Controlling the work plan (timeline, effort, scope, quality, budget), overseeing progress reports, updating project logs, and managing requisitions and invoicing. Ensure that the services provided by the team are in accordance with the plan and monitor the delivery of these services against the agreed schedule, quality, scope and budget.

Track and report on project performance, Quality of project deliverables, and report on the effectiveness of engagement against the reference plan. Assess and implement mitigation measures.

PMO workflow and SDLC adoption. Responsible for monitoring and promoting the workflow and SDLC adopted by the PMO. Advise on the use of management standards, methodology as well as templates and other tools. Actively participate in the continuous process improvement.

Create and Maintain PM Documentation. Establish processes to support operational excellence of delivery. This includes launching the project into the delivery system, planning the project schedule and work breakdown structure, defining deliverable acceptance and reporting procedures, risk management and quality of delivery.

Manage resources & budget. Manage resource planning, monitor resource workload and resolve resource performance issues with their manager. Manage the financial aspects of the project (invoicing services, tracking payments, etc.).

Define acceptance criteria. Define the acceptance criteria for each project deliverable, works with the team to establish delivery dates for each deliverable, and oversee the review of deliverables to ensure they meet all acceptance criteria, securing sign-off on each deliverable as defined in the SDLC.

Contribute to project completion activities: archiving reports, managing lessons learned and addressing outstanding issues.

Requirements:


  • 5+ years' experience managing IT Projects focusing on Infrastructure and Security.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and French.
  • Proven experience in the successful execution of long term projects including tracking deliverables, quality and project scope
  • Proven experience in the successful execution of infrastructure and/or security projects.
  • Experience with PMO and SDLC best practices, actively participate in continuous process improvement.
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative and fastpaced environment.
  • Critical thinking, excellent listening skills and ability to communicate clearly.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to manage emergencies and priorities while using resources appropriately
