Total Fire Solutions, a division of the Total Group of Companies, is an industrial service company specializing in fire protection services.

This includes but is not limited to pumps, hydrants, fixed and semi-fixed foam injection systems, and bladder tanks. Based out of Red Deer, we service the entire province of Alberta.


Total Fire Solutions is actively seeking multiple full time and part time Fire Systems Technicians to start as soon as possible. These positions can be permanent or seasonal, and require overnight travel, evening, and weekend work. Accommodations and subsistence will be provided.

Under the direct supervision of the Fire Systems Specialist, daily task and activities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct pump, hydrant, and hose inspections, testing, and maintenance (at the shop and in the field)
  • Conduct flushing operations of fixed and semifixed fire protection systems
  • Assist with minor repairs
  • Perform general shop duties
  • Driving to client sites
  • Complete data entry and generate reports
  • Working with pressurized systems / chemicals
  • Detail oriented
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

To be considered or this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Authorized to work in Canada and possess a valid SIN
  • Be 19 years of age or older
  • Have a valid drivers licence with a minimum of 3 years driving experience
  • Be able to produce a satisfactory driving abstract
  • Be physically fit with the ability to lift 5075 lbs consistently
  • Be able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, including working at heights
  • Be willing and able to travel out of town
  • Be willing and able to work outdoors, in varying weather conditions
  • Be able to pass preaccess drug and alcohol testing
  • Be a graduate of a Pre-Service Fire Program or have knowledge of fire fighting tools and equipment
  • Know how to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams, or have the willingness to learn
