Description

Total Fire Solutions, a division of the Total Group of Companies, is an industrial service company specializing in fire protection services.

This includes but is not limited to pumps, hydrants, fixed and semi-fixed foam injection systems, and bladder tanks. Based out of Red Deer, we service the entire province of Alberta.

Total Fire Solutions is actively seeking multiple full time and part time Fire Systems Technicians to start as soon as possible. These positions can be permanent or seasonal, and require overnight travel, evening, and weekend work. Accommodations and subsistence will be provided.

Under the direct supervision of the Fire Systems Specialist, daily task and activities include but are not limited to:

Conduct pump, hydrant, and hose inspections, testing, and maintenance (at the shop and in the field)
Conduct flushing operations of fixed and semifixed fire protection systems
Assist with minor repairs
Perform general shop duties
Driving to client sites
Complete data entry and generate reports
Working with pressurized systems / chemicals
Detail oriented
Willingness to learn
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication skills
Safety driven
Positive attitude

To be considered or this role, you must meet the following criteria:

Authorized to work in Canada and possess a valid SIN
Be 19 years of age or older
Have a valid drivers licence with a minimum of 3 years driving experience
Be able to produce a satisfactory driving abstract
Be physically fit with the ability to lift 5075 lbs consistently
Be able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, including working at heights
Be willing and able to travel out of town
Be willing and able to work outdoors, in varying weather conditions
Be able to pass preaccess drug and alcohol testing
Be a graduate of a Pre-Service Fire Program or have knowledge of fire fighting tools and equipment
Know how to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams, or have the willingness to learn

Applicants with previous experience in a similar role or have knowledge of fire protection systems and/or NFPA regulations, will be given priority selection.
