Process Control Network Specialist - Sarnia, Canada - Shell
Description
Shell Sarnia currently operates under a Hybrid work model, where flexibility to work from home is available. Please note that this is a hands-on role so significant site time where approximately 3 days/week) on site is expected.Responsibilities include:
- Proactive monitoring of Process Control Network systems
- Provide technical support for management of secure network infrastructure which includes firewall configuration, rule review, maintenance, and upgrades in line with Management of Change guidelines
- Troubleshoot instrumentation, DCS (Distributed Control Systems), or SIS (Safety System) networking issues in collaboration with the Control Systems Team
- Develop and implement changes following the site MOC (Management of Change) process
- Carry out assurance activities and participate in external audits supporting Shell's Process Control Domain Integrity (PCD-I) work process
- Maintain Sarnia virtual infrastructure (VMware, Hyper-V) including upgrades and expansion
- Support PCN designs for new projects ensuring Shell's cyber security and PCN Standards are followed, and support of the project execution
- Participate in DCS and SIS software/hardware upgrades as necessary
- Maintain an awareness of site policies and act as the first point of contact for PCD concerns or issues
Skills & Requirements
- Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a fulltime basis for anyone other than current employer
- Postsecondary degree in Engineering, Computer Science or an equivalent Engineering Technology diploma
- Minimum 3+ years of experience within Process Controls including design, implementation, and maintenance a highly secure and highreliability network
- Knowledge of virtual systems management on VMWare (Hyper-V to less extent)
- Knowledge of
Network Administration:
applicable to Windows Servers, Enterprise Anti-Virus, endpoint security, WSUS
- Knowledge in networking fundamentals to include switching, routing and firewall management, Cisco is preferred
- Knowledge of
- Willing to provide some offhours support during upsets, outages, Turnarounds, and emergencies (These events are not typical)
