JOB POSITION
Special Electronics & Designs Inc. is seeking a _
Shipper/Receiver & Production Assembler _to join our team. This position includes shipping worldwide, receiving materials, as well as the operation of automatic and semi-automatic shop machinery. A keen eye is needed to check final assembly for finish, labeling and packaging methods. Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings and specifications are an asset.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Shipping/Receiving:


  • Prepare accurate shipping quotes, price lists, etc. as requested.
  • Ensure product delivery times are scheduled with the appropriate carrier.
  • Prepare shipments according to specific orders and compliance requirements.
  • Receive parts & materials and verify receiving documentation.
  • Maintain daily files and organize Shipping and Receiving area.

Assembler:


  • Operation of automatic and semiautomatic machinery
  • Assemble components, assemblies, and products
  • Submit product to inspection at the specified times
  • Manage product tracking sheets, time sheets, etc.
  • Observe all safety rules and work in accordance with ISO Quality Programs

EDUCATION

  • Minimum high school diploma with a good understanding of the English language.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ERP, and general computer systems

EXPERIENCE

  • Two years minimum experience in Shipping/Receiving & Assembly or in similar areas of interest.
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of hand tools; or hobbies which require similar manual dexterity.
  • Exposure to machine shop skills are an asset (i.e., hand power tools, metal lathes, drill press, milling machine, forklift).
  • Experience in logistics and knowledge of carriers (Purolator, UPS etc.,) is an asset.

Pay:
From $20.15 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
