Job Purpose
As an Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the safety, quality, and delivery expectations of our clients.
Accountabilities
- On a daily basis, the Operations Manager will:
- Communicate daily stand-up notes with team members to instill the importance of safety compliance and quality of service, as well as highlight delivery success stories;
- Create and manage schedules of team members (direct and hired through an agency), factoring in overtime allowance and addressing absenteeism; and
- Update and communicate with appropriate stakeholders regarding the status of resources and assets present at the site.
- On an ongoing basis, the Operations Manager will:
- Ensure implementation and follow through of the company's and client's Standard Operating Procedures, systems, tools, and devices at station;
- Identify, report, and track fleet damage and the subsequent repairs to ensure vehicles are serviced and returned in safe condition, in a timely manner;
- Manage delivery service concerns and driver's onroad performance to limit exposure to the company and minimize impact to the customer;
- Support the dispatching efforts, resolve escalations from Logistics Coordinators in a timely manner;
- Coach, train and recognize exemplary performance of team members from reviewing key performance metrics;
- Attend meetings with client and relay information to stakeholders; and
- Control and allocate physical and human resources accordingly to align with the organization's financial objectives, while mitigating waste.
- Manage & track station level inventory
- Administer investigations related to workplace injuries, accidents, damages, and discrepancies.
- Monitor and track station level inventory
- Report daily challenges to clients, management, and parking tickets.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients and employees.
Requirements:
- Minimum G class licence
- Past final mile experience required
- Past delivery experience
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Flexible schedule understanding the operation may require support at anytime
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Past leadership experience
Education
- Bachelor's degree or College Diploma in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics or operations management, with a proven track record of success.
- Proficient in the use of logistics software and tools.
- Familiarity with routing tools
- Able to thrive in a fastpaced and dynamic work environment.
- Knowledge of safety standards and compliance regulations in the logistics industry.
Work Conditions
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 49 pounds
- Ability to drive vans and assist with loadouts.
- Fast paced environment with variable process changes that require quick adaptability.
Pay:
Up to $50,000.00 per year
