Position Summary:


The Merchandising Execution Coordinator Summer Student is responsible for providing exceptional support to Parkland's best in class merchandising standards and store execution program across 800 convenience stores within Canada Retail Merchandising team of Parkland, for the 8-month term.

As a member of the Retail Merchandising team, you will assist with the day-to-day activities that include supporting the development, communication, and rollout of the new Field Merchandising execution program.

The Merchandising Execution Coordinator student will also collaborate with the Merchandising and Operations team on various projects and initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

Support best-in-class practices for merchandising standards and store execution support for all regions within Canada.
Analysis of site audits for all regions. Review data, identify regional trends and provide recommendations for execution improvement.
Write and communicate retailer communications for merchandising standards, programs, and general merchandising communication initiatives.
Monitor Parkland's internal communication portal to ensure content is current, relevant and supports the merchandising programs as required.
Creation of PowerPoint decks and memos for merchandising training and other initiatives.
Work closely with internal merchandising colleagues to ensure sites have correct layouts and planograms to support execution.
Communicate revision requests to the Store Planning team as intel is submitted from the field.


Qualifications and Skills:

You are available for an 8-month term beginning on or around May 3rd, 2023.

You are currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution working towards a Business degree with a focus in Marketing or a related field.

You have completed your 1st year of your program, with a good standing GPA of 2.9 or above.
You have experience in Retail or Merchandising.
You have exceptional interpersonal skills and possess natural leadership as demonstrated in academic and/or extracurricular activities.

You have highly developed verbal and written communication skills to enable you to thrive in a challenging and exciting work environment.

Bilingualism is an asset but not required.
You are a creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
You have tenacity, strong attention to detail, and are excited to provide assistance to a fast-paced, growing organization.
You have strong MS Office skills including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.

You will be part of a global team and must be able to work effectively through a high degree of collaboration and communication through in-person meetings and video conferences.
