Summary
Reporting to the VP, Strategy & Program Delivery, this new position will lead the development

and impementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategies and initiatives which foster

a sense of belonging at the Y.


Responsibilities

  • Develop a DEI action plan and strategies which align with the Y's mission, vision, and values
  • Collaboratively design and deliver training to raise awareness and understanding of DEI
topics

  • Working collaboratively with the people & culture team, ensure recruitment and retention
practices are equitable and inclusive

  • Develop and facilitate employee resource groups (ERGs) affinity networks, and other DEI
supporting initiatives

  • Analyze data to identify areas of improvement and make recommendations
  • Review policies, procedures, and practices to identify and address barriers and/or biases
  • Remain up to date on best practices and innovative approaches to DEI
  • Ensure legislative compliance
  • Prepare and submit updates and reports as required

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in human resources, organizational psychology, sociology, or related
field; master's degree preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of educational
requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in DEI roles within a corporate or community setting
  • Experience delivering training, facilitating discussions, working with ERGs or affinity
networks is beneficial

  • Deep understanding of DEI principles, best practices, trends and impacts on people,
program delivery, physical space

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, analyze, and problemsolve
  • Demonstrated cultural and accessibility competence
  • Genuine passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion work
