    About the Role


    As an RN or RPN in a resident directed care home, you evaluate residents' care needs by assessing residents on admission; develop appropriate nursing care plans along with the Interdisciplinary Team; carry out orders specified in the care plan and administer direct nursing care; receive physicians' orders and arrange for treatments, medications and other therapeutic services; dispense medications to residents; maintain unit records and residents' charts; and guide clinical experience of other nursing staff and students.

    Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

    Your Education and Experience Should Look like This

    Graduation from a recognized program with a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
    Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
    Two years recent, related experience in gerontological nursing
    Current CPR-C.

    Skills & Abilities

    Sensitivity and a passion for meeting the needs of older adults and an ability to interact with residents, families and members of the community.

    Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
    Ability to deal with others effectively.
    Physical ability to carry out duties of the position.
    Ability to organize work.
    Ability to operate related equipment.
