Role
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop an effective security and disaster recovery management plan and implement it.
- Keep current with the latest technologies and determine what new technology solutions and implementations are required, especially with respect to security, backups and disaster recovery.
- Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures and implement them, including providing written protocols and guidance to endusers.
- Perform server configuration and administration tasks, diligent monitoring and upgrades.
- Perform infrastructure (firewalls, switches,...) configuration and administration tasks, diligent monitoring of infrastructure and upgrades.
- Manage telecommunication infrastructure.
- Investigate, analyze, and resolve complex software and hardware problems; perform advanced hardware/software repairs, maintenance, and technical assistance.
- Become knowledgeable with Epicor and provide the support and development required for continued operations.
- Implement effective methods to install and maintain desktop/laptop computer hardware; including computers, monitors, printers, internal cards, and other computer equipment.
- Respond to afterhours system problem calls.
- Travel to Ward's locations as needed to maintain IT infrastructure.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 3 years experience in administration of Windows Server 2016 and up. MCSA or MCSE a definite advantage.
- Proven experience with virtualisation a definite advantage.
- Proven understanding and experience of network infrastructure and Watchguard equipment.
- 3 years experience with Veeam.
- Experience as MS SQL Server, administrator, or developer a definite advantage.
- 2 years experience with SSRS development an asset.
- Experience working or administering Epicor an asset.
- Experience configuring and deploying Microsoft 365 an asset
- Experience configuring PBX's an asset.
- Ability to establish priorities and meet firm deadlines.
