The Opportunity

As the world accelerates its transition to cleaner energy, Portable Electric is well poised to pursue our share of a multi-billion dollar addressable market in e-generators and EV charging alone.

We have a proven value proposition, a base platform of revenues on which to build, a growing network of potential OEM and strategic partners, and our own battery management software IP well into development.

To enable us to design and develop evolving and innovative customer solutions that integrate our hardware and software, Portable Electric is now seeking a forward-thinking and experienced
VP of Technology Development.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a world pioneer in clean mobile power solutions; to own the strategy and execution for our product platform roadmaps and deployment; and to and to help the world shift to a low-carbon economy.

In this role, you will be contributing directly and significantly to Portable Electric's evolution from a hardware systems integrator to a provider of holistic power-as-a-service solutions involving hardware and software with proprietary IP.

The Role
Our VP, Technology Development is a new and key role for Portable Electric.

As the VP of Technology Development, you will report directly to our CTO and will be part of our Senior Management Team.

In collaboration with them, one of your key objectives will be to formulate and share a vision for our future solution platforms - both hardware, software and services.

You will be responsible for leading and building the capabilities of our new Technology Development team, which will run in parallel with our Engineering team.

As the VP, Technology Development, you will have 6 pillars of responsibility:

Be responsible for our Strategic IP Management evolution
Develop Power Controls
Develop a Power Management System
Build the architecture of our future mobile batteries and power stations
Build and create our set of Technology Standards for use within future solutions
Ensure components are tested with primary certification

Technology Development Responsibilities:

Working closely with Sales and Product teams to identify solution opportunities and build the roadmap for developing new products
Own the architecture design for PE's evolving inhouse built firmware and software for battery management (BMS), energy management (EMS) and data analytics
Track progress, and provide status reports of technology development
Bring cost efficiencies to product design for optimal manufacturing and rollout
Work closely with VP, Operations on the manufacturing, supply chain, sourcing of components for our mid to long term strategy
Develop long term strategy to support component testing, primary certifications, quality and regulatory compliance standards, and preparing for future standards including CSA, UL, ETL and similar requirements
Identify future technology's to incorporate into PE's mid to long term roadmap
Develop and manage PE's strategy and portfolio for all Intellectual Property including capturing knowhow, patentable ideas, trademarks, etc.
