Production Metal Worker - Markham, Canada - Nimlok Canada

Description

The role of the production metal worker is to ensure all aluminum extrusion cuts are prepared and handled properly based off work orders or design specs.

This position will work within the fabrication team and ensure all orders are completed correctly and deadlines are met with the products meeting the company's quality requirements.

• Fulfill duties in the designated department and assist with fabrication production in other areas when required.
• Read instructions and perform product fabrication and assembly as required.
• Report to team lead / production supervisor with production updates on active orders.
• Complete assigned work ensuring deadlines are met and product meets quality requirements.
• Work within fabrication team when absences occur to cover other positions.
• Partake in quarterly Inventory stock counts.
• Setup cut frames for testing when required.
• Works safely to avoid injuries, reports any workplace hazards immediately to management.
• Communicate to management any issues found on any active production orders.
• Work efficiently on all assigned tasks to contribute to reduced lead times.
• Participate in cross training as requested.
• Come to work on a regular basis, punctual.
• Maintains good housekeeping practices in assigned working areas.

• College diploma or skilled trade certificate required.
• Fabrication experience an asset.
• Experience with pneumatic saw and chop saw required.
• Working with hand router / trimmer an asset.
• Experience working with metal extrusion.
• Ability to work off of cut lists and or CAD drawings.
• Able to use and read an imperial / metric measuring tape.
• Ability to communicate in English. Verbally and written.
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
• Strong organizational skills.
