Requirements:
Bachelor of Education
Bachelor of Music is an asset.
Experience teaching in an ECDP - Grade 6 school.
Desired Qualifications/Skills:
Have a strong music background.
Have demonstrated leadership in Music in a school setting.
Have experience classroom teaching in an ECDP- Grade 6 school.
Be willing and able to assume a classroom teaching assignment along with that of being a music teacher, if needed.
Have a strong knowledge of the music curriculum ECDP- Grade 6.
Demonstrate a philosophy of the importance of promoting the love of music.
Have an ability to design and implement Individual Program Plans.
Have demonstrated the ability to create a classroom characterized by inclusion, equity and differentiated instruction.
Possess superior organizational and interpersonal skills.
Have demonstrated support for the District's Big 3: Healthy and active schools, environmental stewardship and academic excellence.
Have proven themselves to be a team player and a positive staff member.
Have Training in The Leader in Me or be willing to participate in training provided
Knowledge/understanding of The Regulated Classroom or be will to participate in professional learning.
Exhibit a strong work ethic.
Be flexible and willing to adapt to a reflective and responsive educational environment.
Be open to new programs and initiatives.
Be a reflective practitioner.
Recognize the importance of making strong positive connections with all students, through classroom interactions as well as involvement with students outside the classroom. (ie clubs and teams)
