Marketing Assistant - Edmonton, Canada - Edmonton Opera
3 weeks ago
Description
Context
Edmonton Opera is in a period of renewal.
A new leadership team is in place, and several key internal team members have moved into new roles over the past 2 years.
The result is that while Edmonton Opera is an established company with nearly 60 years of history, today it is operating as a young company — one that is excitedly engaged in the development of a new artistic vision and new ways of working within the community.
Part of the youthful reinvention of Edmonton Opera is a focus on staff development, an acknowledgement that it will take some time for team members to grow into new roles, and a desire to support working artists.
Along with this is the reality that the company is creating new pathways forward, learning along the way, and allocating human and financial resources with flexibility and care as the needs of the company ebb and flow.
The following job description is written in this spirit. It acknowledges that Edmonton Opera continues to learn where support is needed and how to best use the skills, talents, and passions of the team.
It is based on an expectation of growth, learning, mistakes, accountability, transparency, and 2-way communication — elements that are critical for the development of a positive company culture.
