Description
Wounds Canada, a charitable organization devoted to improving the lives of Canadians at risk for or with wounds, is currently seeking an outstanding individual eager to join our team on a full-time basis as a bilingual (English and French) Communications Specialist.
Primary Responsibilities
The Communications Specialist will work with the Wounds Canada team in all areas relating to publications and communications. Reporting directly to both the Director of Communications and Editor, Major Publications, he/she/they will
- Provide writing, editing and proofreading support for a variety of communications, including (but not limited to):
- Wounds Canada's websites
- marketing materials
- Work directly with the Editor and liaise with authors/contributors to _Wound Care Canada, Limb Preservations and Foundations of Best Practice for Skin and Wound Management_
- Publish/upload materials as required to Wounds Canada websites and social media channels
- Collect and collate analytical data from websites and social media channels
- Coordinate and schedule teleconference meetings and take minutes during meetings related to communications/publication activities
- Participate as a member of the organizational team, contributing to strategic direction and planning decisions, promoting collaboration and actively participating in meetings
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills in English and French, with the ability to change tone, style and messaging to suit audience needs
- Undergraduate degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media, Marketing, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years relevant experience and a solid portfolio demonstrating successful writing, editing and project management
- Extensive social media experience
- Collaborative and curious mindset
- Demonstrated excellence in the areas of selfmotivation, flexibility and discipline within a team environment
- Excellent timemanagement and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills and knowledge in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint), InDesign, Photoshop, website software, social media platforms
Other Considerations
- We work in a virtual environment and will have occasional facetoface meetings and events when it becomes safe to do so.
- You must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Some travel is required.
