    Description
    What will you do?

    Below are a few of the primary responsibilities this entails, we can discuss them all in more detail when we meet:

  • Prepare and oversee detailed designs and working drawings following project approval;
  • Function as a resource for technical questions with respect to design, be able to actively solve problems through the construction of projects;
  • Perform daily production workload activities so that production timelines are met;
  • Work independently and with a team on multiple projects at a time in various stages of the construction process to find efficiency in design;
  • Review and discuss onsite construction issues as they arise (framing, engineering, floor and roof layouts, finishing, electrical);
  • Formulate documents for Building Permit Submissions; draw site plans and complete grading;
  • Work with the Design team to review, develop and analyze scopes of work aimed at standardizing Dream's design activities and obtaining departmental KPI's;
  • Maintain CAD standards and plan consistency for all master files;
  • Act as the liaison between various internal departments (construction, marketing, land);
  • Be actively involved in new product development and design as well as enhancing existing products
  • Assist in staying current by searching for new products and creating new designs that will help Dream build better communities and homes in the future;
  • Revise stock plans as necessary as measured by site variance.
  • What type of experience do you have?

  • We ask that you have a post-secondary degree/diploma in Architectural Technologies (Residential Stream) or related field.
  • 1+ years of progressive experience in residential architectural design.
  • Understand and apply the Alberta Building Code and have an understanding of Municipal Bi-Laws
  • Extensive knowledge of home building, estimating, construction building
  • Proficient in AutoCAD is essential to this role.
  • Strong computer application skills with proven proficiency in MS Office. If you have previous experience with JDE Homebuilder, bonus
  • LEED accreditation also a bonus
  • Strong verbal and written business communication skills.
