Summary:

Reporting to the Supervisor - Processing, as the Machine Shop Technician - Grinding, you will be responsible for general grinding on the Weekend day shift.

Work Location:
Oakville, Ontario - Onsite

Work Shift:
Weekend Days, Friday - Sunday 6a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Primary Responsibilities:

ID and OD grinding of large chrome and HVOF plated aircraft components
Participate in lean initiatives (i.e. 5S, TPM, process improvement teams)
Communicate and coordinate priorities and process issues between operators and shifts
Observe and adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Use of Cranes to move parts
Perform other duties as required

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications include: Grade 12 diploma or equivalent plus recognized and accredited college /trade program or three or more years (3+) prior outside Machining experience
At least 3 years of cylindrical grinding experience of large components and six months to a year CNC experience
Demonstrated knowledge of machine shop practices, including turning and milling, with an emphasis on grinding
Demonstrated ability to work to close tolerances and sound understanding of blueprint reading and all associated measuring equipment
Strong understanding of WHMIS
Must be willing and able to work steady night shift (11pm 7am) and support the business as needed on off shifts and weekends
Demonstrated ability to work as a crossfunctional employee
