Position purpose:


Provides strategic and operational leadership in the planning, organization, execution, and continuous improvement of all aspects related to the efficient delivery of uOttawa's rePENSER / reIMAGINE $500M Campaign (the "Campaign").

Translates strategies into plans, projects, and deliverables in support of meeting Advancement and Campaign objectives while promoting service excellence.

Works closely with the Advancement Leadership Team (ALT) and the broader External Relations team to design, implement and socialize Campaign engagement and investment opportunities.

The Manager, Campaign Planning and Operations overseas and facilitates a successful Campaign volunteer experience, with a specific focus on the Campaign Cabinet led by uO and community leaders globally.

The Manager establishes processes and procedures that optimize resources contributing to the overall success of the Campaign.

As the 'face' of the Campaign, the Manager leads projects and collaboration across External Relations and the broader University community.


In this role, your responsibilities will include:

Conducts needs analysis and strategic planning activities by contributing innovative ideas and evidence-based information related to the delivery of the Campaign, both internally and externally.

Manages and monitors the budget allocated for execution of Campaign operations while complying with related policies, regulations, and procedures.


Tracks success of the overall Campaign and sub-campaign(s), providing regular progress reports to the Director to ensure that targets are met within designated time frames.

Based on business intelligence data, industry-wide best practice benchmarking, and evidence-based metrics, collaborates with the ALT to recognize opportunities and solutions, recommends, and prepares appropriate business and project plans to support them.


Oversee a strategy for campaign communications; leveraging the Communications Directorate to support the creation of content, including the design, production and deployment of collateral, engaging with relevant media organizations, and celebrating campaign milestones appropriately.


Acts as an ambassador of uOttawa and represents the University to external audiences on a local, national, and international level.

Builds, cultivates and maintains relationships with prominent alumni, donors, volunteers, friends, community and professional organizations to inspire philanthropic support for the University of Ottawa.


What you will bring:

Bachelor's degree in public relations, administration, or communications, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge of the principles of fundraising and engagement, and best practices

7 years' experience in not-for-profit sector, fundraising, Advancement Services or Alumni Relations

5 years of related experience in non-profit Campaign management or related project-based management experience

Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders

Self-motivated, goal oriented, and strategic thinker with ability to work independently

Experience in budget management and planning

Demonstrated ability to write and produce high quality reports, plans and strategies
