    The Compliance Coordinator will ensure that all documentation related to product safety, legality, and quality systems is maintained in compliance, with government, customer, and third-party requirements. Maintains records of product quality for regulatory and company use. Promotes and supports company continuous improvement efforts and initiatives. Ensures that employees adhere to Bakery and government regulations with emphasis on safety, sanitation and quality.

    Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, file and maintain records relating to product safety, legality, and quality systems
  • Prepare bakery team(s) for audits, and provide support throughout third-party audits such as: BRC, FDA, USDA, CFIA, Customer audits, etc.
  • Ensure compliance to specifications from Aspire Bakeries Central Service and those mandated by customers
  • Conduct audits of procedures used in all areas of the bakery and issuing a completed report with corrective actions to relevant managers and supervisors
  • Maintain schedule calendars to stay on track with internal audits, mock trace exercises, training, and management of internal gap assessments.
  • Conduct follow-up with Managers to ensure that corrective actions to deviations are being completed in a timely manner
  • Data-entry of records related to product safety, legality, and quality systems
  • Assist with various data collection projects
  • Assists QA Supervisor with traceability exercises
  • Cross-train in FSQA disciplines to be able to assist with coverage of call-offs and vacations in other positions
  • When covering for other positions, the Compliance Coordinator will not be permitted to verify or audit that work. A Quality Supervisor or the Quality Manager will cover that task.
  • To maintain impartiality of the auditing functions of the position, the Compliance Coordinator will be insulated from procedure writing and form creation. The position's primary function is to observe and report.
  • Flexibility to adjust work schedule to meet the requirements of the bakery.
  • Employee must follow and comply with the bakery GMP, Food Safety and Safety Procedures
  • Ensure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities specific to food safety, legality and qualitySkills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Experience in the implementation and auditing of GFSI and BRC standards
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization as well as customers
  • Ability to analyze data and project trends and correlations
  • Must have good command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Detailed oriented, strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or sufficient related experience in the food industry
  • Must maintain ASQ Certified Quality Auditor certification
  • Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience in food industry manufacturing or quality experience.
  • Significant experience and knowledgeable in the requirements of third-party auditors such as: BRC, FDA, USDA, CFIA, Customer audits, etc.
  • A background in bakery and frozen food manufacturing would be an advantage.
