This is a non-union Working under the supervision of the Foreman, Leadhand will assist the Civil Team with various projects.
the Leadhand will, connect underground pipes, water service, install connection boxes, support the drillers, install telecom drops, perform landscaping work, etc.
This position requires the likes of an individual who is excited to learn new skills. Must be able and willing to perform physical duties outdoors and have a clean driver abstract.The Company

Responsibilities:
Execute all work assigned safely, and adhere to company and site-specific policies and regulations
Work under customers' standards
Must be able to plan travel schedule and routes, receive and relay information to supervisor
Handle and distribute construction materials, loading and unloading vehicles with supplies, equipment, remove all debris from work sites
Perform different construction tasks using landscaping tools, power tools (e.g. compaction jumping jacks, cut saws, air compressors and generators quick cut, tamper, etc.)
Transport materials from one place to another of the site to make them available to co-workers
Follow equipment maintenance schedule and advise if repair is required;
Perform other tasks related to this function
Will perform work including re-sodding of areas that have previously been excavated which includes placement of sod, grass seed and topsoil
Excavate, backfill and compact earth using shovels and rakes
Asking for direction as necessary
Provide assistance with general site preparation and clean-up as directed
Able to assess work environment for potential health and safety hazards
Assist with traffic control as directed
Will perform all other duties as required by foreman
Qualifications:
Valid driver's G licence
Must provide a clean driving record (abstract) and criminal check prior to employment commencing
Working knowledge of Water and Sewer, Telecom Industry, Fiber Optic Installation (Underground projects) is an asset
Must possess and exhibit strong safety acumen and demonstrate safe work practices
Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willing to receive applicable health and safety training as per legislative and job requirements
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
Willingness to follow AZ3 best practices
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with managers, peers, and clients and maintain excellent communication between members of the team and clients
Must have previous general labour experience in a construction setting working with unloading materials and equipment, driving vehicles
Book 7 knowledge
Able to move dump trucks and excavators, back-up a truck and trailer and manipulate heavy equipment in a restricted area
Must be available 40 hours a week or more
Laying sod, seeding, spreading top soil, dirt removal and clean up
Landscaping experience an asset
Concrete & Asphalt experience is an asset
Sidewalk bay replacement experience is an asset
Ability to follow instructions
Physical Requirements
Hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty.
Must be able to repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach and crawl.
Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Must be able to work in all outdoor elements for extended periods of time.
Confined Space Entry may be required to accomplish tasks for some clients when applicable.
Be able to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
Must be able to climb ladders, and work from stationary platforms from elevated heights.
Must be capable of working extended hours and variable shifts.
Must be eligible to work in Canada

Salary:
$25.00-$30.00 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
