Role Description
Torq IT is a Software Development and Consulting firm which is based in Charlottetown, PE.

After half a decade of success we are expanding our operations and opening a second office in the Halifax Regional Municipality.

We are looking for a first critical hire to help us establish our new location and grow our team in the HRM.

In the short term, help us establish a good working culture and environment in our new office. You will be expected to be a leader and mentor, and help us establish our company culture. You will be responsible for mentoring new hires and helping grow the team.

You will work with a variety of small and large clients, help make tech stack decisions, mentor developers, and lead projects.

You will work both independently, and with our close-knit team of 18 multi-functional developers in Charlottetown.

As we continue to grow, you will gain more responsibility at Torq IT, especially in regard to our Nova Scotia Operation.

There will be opportunity to hire the team you want, grow their role in the business, improve processes and procedures, and cater your role within it.

Compensation varies based on experience and responsibility


Responsibilities

Education:

• Bachelor's degree of Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, or;
• Diploma of web development or software development, or;
• Equivalent industry experience

Required Skills:

• Experience working with a team to deliver client requirements
• Experience mentoring other developers

Bonus Points:

• Experience working on and/or managing multiple projects at a time.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks like React/Angular/Vue.
• You are excited by the opportunity to grow your own team and guide their evolution.
• You think about where where process can be improved and work can be reused.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with modern cloud architecture (Azure, AWS, etc)
• You have ever worked with Pimcore or other PIM/DAM systems
