About the role


We are seeking an IT Senior Financial Analyst to join us in our Toronto or Montreal IT Financial Planning & Analysis team.

If you are detail oriented, love working with IT project budgets, forecasts, and are tenacious about quality, this may be the right opportunity for you


This dynamic role will require a balance of technical numerical proficiency, strong relationship building skills, and a good knowledge of operational portfolio financial management.

You must possess strong organizational skills to lead and produce monthly reports and presentations that speak to IT executive management.


Key job responsibilities:


  • Consolidation of the monthly IT executive management presentation
  • Participate in IT forecasting and budgeting exercises so that the current and forecasted budget position of IT projects and portfolios are well understood and communicated
  • Run the resource forecast process. Compare budget and forecast resource budget demand against available staffing and contract resources. Provide insight through monthly resource forecasting reporting on resource budget and resourcing needed to complete IT projects.
  • Provide key actionable insights to senior IT management: create and maintain dashboard that explain deviations (actuals vs budget vs forecast)
  • Continuous improvement of reporting such as refining metrics and visualizations
  • Simplifying report creation by taking advantage of opportunities to automate and streamline processes
  • Validation and control of key budget inputs and resulting reports.
  • Following up with project stakeholders to gain more insight into project financial status
  • Partner with key IT project stakeholders and become a trusted business partner
  • Be a key team member in evolving Intact's Total Cost of Ownership strategy and evolving our tools to achieve this

Your Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant experience required
  • CPA designation or MBA is considered a strong asset
  • Experience in IT Financial Management, Technology Business Management (TBM), Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is considered an asset
  • Proven ability to think outside the box
  • Minimum 35 years of demonstrated experience in project financial management or financial reporting is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with project lifecycle, waterfall and agile work processes is an asset

Advanced Excel (Macros / Pivots / Functions), Power Point, Word

  • Experience with
    Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle Hyperion
    (Essbase) considered an asset
  • Comfortable learning other various IT Tools
  • Effective, clear, and concise communication and presentation skills and the ability to adapt to a wide audience
  • Attention to detail and quality is essential
