Opportunity Proposition

Responsibilities:


  • Serves as a senior leadership team member providing strategic direction on communications and marketingrelated issues
  • Works effectively as a team member in a dynamic executive environment and promotes teamwork across the organization by maintaining positive relationships and utilizing effective problemsolving skills
  • Plans, develops, and implements a comprehensive and integrated marketing strategy that supports the College's strategic priorities and coordinates all significant marketing efforts to build the College's reputation, awareness, and brand in targeted geographic, academic, and industry markets
  • Skilled in executive written and oral communication
  • Develops strategic messaging and positioning for organizational reports, speeches, presentations, articles, and associated communications on behalf of the President's Office and oversees the planning and execution of Conestoga's communications and outreach activities targeted to both internal and external audiences, including corporate reports and publications, internal communications, social/digital media, and the corporate website
  • Serves as Conestoga's primary media relations contact and consultant and as a member of the College's senior leadership team
  • Provides leadership for crisis and emergency response communications as well as guidance and assistance in identifying, managing, and messaging issues that may impact Conestoga's image
  • Oversee marketing advertising, branding strategy and tactics, events and experiential marketing, and governance of brand standards
  • Supports public relations activities that enhance the direction and positioning of the College; builds relationships with key media outlets and ensures messages reach key audiences
  • Keeps abreast of educational sector, professional and technological trends, issues, and services, as applicable
  • Will have successfully integrated marketing in conjunction with communications to support College goals and objectives
  • Assumes fiscal responsibility through budgetary planning and implementation
  • Oversees human resource management for the assigned area creating a culture of employee engagement; ensures HR policies are administered consistently across the function
  • Organizes communications and marketing through appropriate structure and delegation of functions; identifies succession planning needs within the team

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred (i.e., Communications, Public Relations)
  • Previous experience in higher education is preferred but not required; working in a complex, matrixed environment with multiple internal/external audiences is a must
  • A champion for the brand, experience in evolving a brand is desirable; strength in brand development, storytelling and adapting messaging to address various constituents
  • Superior communications skills oral, written, editing, and presentation
  • Strong working knowledge of the latest digital and print trends, digital engagement, social media, content marketing, lead generation and acquisition strategies and tactics, search engine optimization, paid media, branding and market research techniques and practices
