As the Risk Specialist, you will lead risk management initiatives, coordinate major elements of the enterprise risk management program including risk identification and assessment procedures, monitor internal compliance, and recommend and action changes.

You will work independently and in collaboration with relevant business stakeholders, with defined goals, reporting to the Actuary, Risk Management.


What you'll be working on:


  • You will develop, execute, analyze and maintain risk management processes and tools to support business goals and objectives of the Risk Management department and broader enterprise risk management program.
  • You will research and analyze risk management issues, methods and solutions to support business strategy development under the direction of senior team members.
  • Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to enhance and continue to evolve the risk management program.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with line management and senior leaders to support the development, delivery and promotion of risk management programs.
  • Ensure compliance with current and emerging regulatory and governing requirements by reviewing existing processes and leading initiatives to ensure continued compliance.

What you'll need to have:

  • 3+ years risk assessment based work experience within the Financial Service industry (audit, actuarial, accounting, compliance, operations). Ability to plan and prioritize multiple initiatives and work with relevant business stakeholders. Active listener / excellent communication skills. Strong selfinitiative with ability to take ownership of challenges and take appropriate action. Creative problem solver. Advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Completion of a university degree in a program such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or Economics. Commitment to continue professional development to support career progression and role competency.

It would be nice for you to have:

  • Experience with Power BI, Google suite
  • Bilingual in French and English
