    Job Opportunity: Medical Office Assistant with 1+ Year Experience

    We are seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Office Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team We want to hear from you if you have at least one year of experience as a medical office assistant and proficiency in using Accuro EMR software.

    Position: Medical Office Assistant

    Location: Sydney, NS

    Experience: Minimum One Year

    Software Proficiency: Accuro EMR, Microsoft Office

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Provide excellent customer service in greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments and registering patients and

    2. explaining services available;

    3. Remind patients of their appointments;

    4. Facilitate the preparation and submission of billings to MSI for insured claims and to the payer for non-insured claims;

    5. Work with medical and nursing staff to ensure smooth patient flow and cut down on waiting times;

    6. Facilitate referrals from the physician's office to a specialist's office.

    7. Compiling and recording medical charts for physicians;

    8. Use and support office equipment, including facsimile machine and photocopiers;

    9. Perform other administrative duties such as filing, data entry, relaying messages and making travel arrangements for physicians;

    Skill Set:

    • Multifunctional with the ability to multitask efficiently.
    • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and medical staff.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
    • Friendly and personable demeanour.
    • Proficient in customer service and conflict resolution.
    • Knowledge of MSI and non-insurance billing processes, as well as medical terminology.
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and Word applications.

    Working Hours:

    The hours of work are 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. This position can be full-time, part-time, or even job-shared, depending on arrangements that ensure consistent front-line staffing during regular work hours.
