    What is the Opportunity? TI's Commercial Relationships' team encompasses a Centre of Excellence approach to managing TI's supplier contracts and has a primary focus on ensuring RBC receives full value from all strategic third-party suppliers' contracts.This role is accountable for oversight of strategic contracts including all transactional responsibilities related to T&O's largest infrastructure suppliers. This includes the contractual management and exploitation of maximum potential value available to RBC for major agreements with other strategic suppliers like IBM, Dell, HP, Oracle, Microsoft etc. This role will also be required to provide leadership and subject matter expertise for any additional strategic supplier relationships.This position will lead the facilitation and coordination of strategic supplier contractual planning meetings, working closely with respective executive team, RBC Procurement, and the supplier community. What will you do?
  • Holds responsibility for ongoing contractual relationship management and liaison between RBC and large suppliers on multi-year, multi-platform, enterprise-wide and strategic contracts. Supports Stakeholders and RBC Enterprise needs/strategies ensuring enhanced client experience and increased shareholder value.
  • Provides Subject Matter Expertise for: Infrastructure transactional processes from initiation of requirements, engagement of suppliers for proposals, coordination of financial documents, engagement of Supplier Management and Procurement, interaction with Legal, presentation of contract to executives for sign off, etc.
  • Streamlining acquisition process while adhering to compliance and risk policies
  • Interpretation of contractual terms, options and alternatives; providing guidance to stakeholders; negotiating with suppliers to uphold and extend favorable terms
  • Extracting full promised value from supplier engagements and contracted terms
  • Leverages knowledge and expertise in RBC's supplier arrangements to ensure RBC Affiliates globally are advised of and receive benefit of RBC pre-negotiated terms and programs, (e.g., City National Bank, BlueBay)
  • Provides advice and counsel on Infrastructure Technology contracts for hardware, software and services ensuring RBC's risks are minimized and negotiated terms are properly documented.
  • Liaises between RBC & Suppliers acting as a central point of contact for contractual issues. Leads and manages a group of matrixed team members including senior managers and directors across the enterprise (Finance, Procurement, and T&O) as well as Supplier account teams.
  • Lead the negotiations of complex/high profile procurement initiatives in partnership with Platforms. The successful outcomes of these initiatives are those solutions that meet business requirements and create value for RBC as measured by savings/cost avoidance achieved.
  • Value creation through total cost of ownership, quality improvements, demand management, supply chain expertise, supplier management, innovative solutions, outsourcing etc.
  • Negotiate, execute, and deploy optimal total cost of ownership solutions across all external spend transactions.
  • What do you need to succeed? Must have:
  • 12+ year's proven Infrastructure Technology platform experience
  • Strong Operational and Supplier mindset
  • Extensive knowledge of technology based suppliers and their associated products or services.
  • High Proficiency of operations standards, methodologies & audit requirements
  • Global Mindset / Strategic Thinking experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence through expertise, relationship building, and value delivery
