What You'll Be Doing
Ensure compliance of corporate policy and procedures and accounting standards when processing Vendor and corporate card accounts payables submissions, and employee expense reports
Process payment runs
Prepare entries for fixed asset capitalization and depreciation, intangible assets capitalization and amortization, prepayment amortization and other adjustment journal entries
Attend to vendor and internal clients' inquiries in a professional manner
Maintain audit and tax schedules to assist in yearend audit and tax filings
Other responsibilities as required

What You'll Bring
1-3 years' experience in Accounts Payable is preferred but not necessary
Post-secondary training in accounting or finance is an asset
Experience in paperless Accounts Payable process is preferred
Experience in going through accounting process change
Intermediate skill in Excel
Good customer and communication skills - written and verbal
Excellent time management skills and attention to detail is a must
Good organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
An analytical mind, good number sense and the ability to learn new accounting software quickly (Dynamics SL)
Ability to work independently and take initiative, and to function effectively without continuous direction

McElhanney's Vancouver office is conveniently situated downtown, just steps away from BC Place and Yaletown and in close proximity to transit, shopping, and restaurants.

In this location are engineering, surveying, and mapping branches, as well as the Corporate head office services including Accounting, Marketing, Human Resources, Business Technology, and Health, Safety & Environment departments.
