General Practitioner/Hospitalist, Permanent Full-TimeHospitalist, James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Gander
Definition of work:
The Hospitalist will work mainly at the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre as well as a variety of other clinical settings. The physician will provide inpatient care as attending physician to the patients admitted to them while on call at the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre. Responsibilities will also include fast-track emergency and operating room (OR) assisting on an as needed basis. The Physician will provide family medicine clinics once weekly in the evening. The physician will care for patients at the long term care centre, Lakeside Homes and the new long term care facility. Call will be required at both the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Lakeside Homes and for after-hours OR assisting.
The successful candidate will be committed to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements.
Required qualifications:
* Eligible for registration and licensure as a General Practitioner with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador
* Satisfy credentialing requirements of Central Health
* A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
* A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority
Hours of work: 75 hours bi-weekly; plus on-call obligations
Salary: $217,525-$235,535 annually
