Champlain College Lennoxville is seeking the services of a RESEARCH ANALYST, for a permanent full-time position.

Reporting to the Registrar and Coordinator of Academic Organization, the analyst will be responsible for the analysis, development, coordination and monitoring of systems, extraction, transformation and loading of data, methods, and processes in connection with organization and administrative operations, particularly with a view toward effective use of resources and in support of College's Student Success Plan.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Participates in the development and implementation of statistical reporting and data analysis.
  • Optimizes the technological tools and resources already available to the organization.
  • Provides technical, technological, or methodological advice and guidance to management, coordinators, and designated entities of the College.
  • Makes recommendations to address identified challenges.
  • Trains, advises, and supports departmental and program coordinators in the use of data-based reports and dashboards and develops tools to these ends.
  • Keeps up to date on best practices for the presentation of information and the structure of the files supporting it.
  • Makes the necessary projections of student and course enrollment to determine teaching load.
  • Works to improve the process for projecting and calculating teaching loads.
  • Participates in calculations related to faculty load and allocation.
  • Participates in teacher load operations in management systems.
  • Participates in the revision of the master schedule and annual scheduling processes.
  • Develops and maintains dashboards for program and student success monitoring.
  • Develops and maintains alumni contact lists in support of program evaluations, community outreach and on behalf of the Champlain Lennoxville Foundation.
  • Produces data and reports for external agencies and partners of the College.
  • Builds numerical analyses on historical data to better understand current and future issues.
  • Advises and registers students in appropriate courses that meet their program requirements for a select number of programs.
  • Assists students for a select number of programs with program changes, course drops, additional course requests and permanent or temporary incomplete requests.
  • Conducts ad hoc analyses as mandated by the College.
  • Performs all other related tasks as required.

Requirements:

Education
Undergraduate degree in an appropriate field of specialization including Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Engineering or Business Administration.
A Master's degree in a relevant field will be considered as a strong asset.

Experience
Knowledge of the Office 365 suite.
Advanced skills level in Excel.
Ability to use and design reports, run queries as well as establish and formulate metrics in Power BI.

Other competencies
Excellent analytical and synthesis skills.
Ability to structure information in a database.
Ability to develop and use dashboards and indicator monitoring.
Autonomy, initiative, developed sense of planning, organization, prioritization, respect of deadlines and responsibilities.
Ability to learn by oneself.
Ability to understand the challenges of an organization.
Knowledge of the college environment
Experience in an educational environment
Fluency in English and French
