The Assistant Regional Managers will help plan and run summer day camps across the Southern Ontario region during the months of June through August.

This is a year-round role where you will be involved in the planning and preparing for our peak summer season, including, sourcing and confirming new camp locations, hiring & training seasonal staff, marketing and promoting our programs, preparing camp equipment and supplies, and managing in-season camp operations.

You will have the opportunity to make a direct impact to the organization, it's staff, customers and the children that come to our summer camps.

_The role will be split, with one Assistant Regional Manager focused on the east and the other on the west of Southern Ontario.

_


Duties and responsibilities

_Camp Management_

  • Assist the Regional Manager with finding and confirming new locations for Pedalheads camps
  • Organizing, preparing, and maintaining camp equipment and supplies, and ensuring timely delivery to camp locations.
  • Lead and supervise summer camp staff by providing mentorship and motivation onsite and supporting the Site Leadership teams at each location
  • Establish positive relationships with camp leaders, instructors, and volunteers.
  • Ensure that camp procedures and safety standards are being followed and upheld
  • Be actively involved in ensuring quality delivery of our children's programs
  • Participate in ensuring friendly, caring and safe camp environments
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with site hosts and dealing with issues or concerns raised by hosts in an effective and timely manner

_Hiring_

  • Work with Hiring Coordinators to hire quality staff for seasonal roles, ensuring staffing quotas are met for each camp location in assigned territory
  • Assists with screening applicants and conducing regular interviews (Group, Individual & online)
  • Help in the preparation and management of all onboarding documents, staff lists, and training dates

_Customer Service_

  • Assists the Regional Manager with responding to customer complaints in a timely and professional manner, always aiming to provide solutions that ensure resolution.
  • Always willing to go the extra mile to engage customers and provide an excellent customer experience.
  • Proactively engage with parents and children onsite.

_Marketing_

  • Participate in marketing activities and promotional events as requested by the marketing department.
  • Interact with other child focused organizations and businesses to develop beneficial relationships.
  • Support corporate activities that drive business success and value for the customer.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 year's supervisory experience managing summer camps and/or teams of leaders/instructors
  • Hands on experience with children's programs/summer camps or in coaching, teaching, instructing children ages 3 to 8 years old
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel to areas of responsibility
  • Knowledge and understanding of the city and communities in Southern Ontario
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Must pass a background check upon hire

Assets:


  • Degree in Education, Sports Management or related field or equivalent education and experience
  • Supervisory and/or hiring experience, especially with ages 1525

Direct reports


The Assistant Regional Manager will assist the Regional Manager with supervising the activities of the Site Leadership and Instructor teams within their assigned regional area.
