Position:
Flutter Buys Store Manager

Permanent, full-time


Hours of Employment: 36-40 Hours per week

Key Purpose:


  • Responsible for management of Flutter Buys Thrift Store.
  • Accountable for creating and following an annual business plan.
  • Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met.
  • Responsible for identifying sales targets and supporting the store in meeting those targets.
  • Ensure all HR and safety policies are relevant and adhered to.
  • Recruitment and training of staff and volunteers.
  • Sales Administration.
  • Marketing

Key Responsibilities:


Strategic

  • Create and follow an annual business plan for the store.
  • Report monthly on sales, inventory and KPI's.
  • Ensure business growth by managing annual marketing and sales plan.

Human Resources

  • Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of staff and volunteers.
  • Provide mentorship and support, coaching and advising staff and volunteers on operational procedures and standards of practice.
  • Prepare and complete staff performance reviews.
  • Develop goals and targets for staff. Devise strategies for communication, implementation and measuring successes.

Merchandising/Processing

  • Responsible for an efficient and timely method of processing incoming inventory to ensure retail area is well stocked.
  • Ensure visual merchandising standards are achieved when products are displayed.
  • Maintain the appearance of the sales floor and receiving areas, ensuring safety compliance and store cleanliness.
  • Ensures organization and maintenance of receiving area, including packing and storing of seasonal goods, clothing and overstock.

Customer Service

  • Develop and implement a customer service strategy that promotes the values of Kamloops Hospice Association.
  • Model expected customer service behavior and provide support with customers as needed.
  • Provide technical support to the cashier, ensuring transactions are completed in accordance with proper cash handling procedures.
  • Respond to customer concerns.

Marketing

  • Create and follow a marketing plan.
  • Actively research new and innovative ideas to market the thrift store and inventory.
  • Create and maintain community partnerships to encourage the donation of goods.
  • Promote current and upcoming sales and fundraising events.

Health & Safety

  • Ensure that all areas are safe, fire exits, and emergency extinguishing equipment are clear, accessible, and marked.
  • Lead monthly safety meetings and follow up on any deficiencies in a timely manner.

Scheduling

  • Maintain and update the volunteer database as needed.
  • Create schedules for staff and volunteers.

Sale Administration

  • Ensure daily sales are balanced by the following day.
  • Ensure safe float counts are done daily.
  • Ensure reports are generated as directed by finance.
  • Create weekly deposit.

IT and Social Media skills. Competent in Windows, Office and other common office software. Familiar with social media and analytics.

Qualifications

  • Valid drivers license, access to vehicle.
  • Retail Management Experience Required
**Please note that this position is a unique retail position. There is no evenings and the store is closed over the Christmas holidays There is flexibility to the schedule as well.


Salary:
From $26.00 per hour
