MENTAL HEALTH COMMUNITY OUTREACH HEALTHCARE WORKERS (RICHMOND)

TWO PROGRAMS (MAIN and EXTENDED) Licensed and Funded by VANCOUVER COASTAL HEALTH


JOB TITLES:
Health Care Worker CASUAL


Employment is open to students or graduates in nursing, health care, or program equivalents, including students in the early years of their studies, to enable a longer period of employment and to maximize their job experience.


The program mandate is to enable adult clients with mental health conditions to reside independently in established professionally supported community housing to manage daily routines and life skills.

All training and orientation shifts are paid

JOB SUMMARY:

The Outreach Position duties include providing care to clients in a manner that will respect the individual(s) & maintain their dignity.

Primary focus is community based residential adult mental health rehabilitative programs. Care includes following prescribed professional, mental health, and physical health services plans and treatments for each client.


JOB DESCRIPTION
In accordance with individual client program plans, duties include:

  • Home visits to monitor medications.
- .Providing support and assistance with daily lifeskill including housekeeping duties;

  • Attending appts; grocery shopping with clients; transporting to and from medical/dental/specialist & other appointments and making appointments for clients when necessary; assisting clients in move ins/ move outs
  • Reporting, documenting, and charting client status, needs, and concerns.
- a full driver's license, CLASS - use of a vehicle for driving clients when needed, Uninsured Motorist Protection Coverage, and third party liability coverage


PAID MILEAGE RATE:
Union on a pre-set route

  • Computer Skills (Basic)

APPLICANTS must be:
Energetic, Communicative. Reliable.


AVAILABILITY
- day and eve shifts on weekends, stat holidays, summer months, holiday season; flexibility to cover staff on vacation or sick leave.


Requirements:


  • First Aid Certification
  • Immunization COVID 19 vaccination
  • TB test, Hepatitis B and Influenza Vaccination
  • BC CARE AIDE Registration/Eligibility
    or Proof of enrolment/certificate in related educational programs

WAGES:
UNION BCGEU/


WAGE RATE:
Probationary Period applies


Base Range :
$27.11-$28.74/Hr.

All Facilities and TOP Program are registered with WORKSAFE BC.
