You as an Assistant Superintendent, Roads & Highways - Night Shift will:

Assist the Superintendent in managing work on-site to ensure the compliance of construction with the drawings and specifications and overall project requirements.

Ensure proactive adherence to health and safety requirements, and environmental best practices.
Work collaboratively and develop relationships with Subcontractors on-site.
Attend and contribute to coordination team or subcontractor meetings by raising critical upcoming coordination needs.

Support the Superintendent in planning upcoming work and staging, and updating micro-schedules, including tracking progress and identifying schedule slippages and assist in resolving problems.

Work with the Quality Control team to ensure quality control activities, inspection programs and construction progress records are completed.

Is this the right role for you?


You have a construction related degree/diploma and a minimum of four years of construction experience working on MTO or major municipal civil infrastructure projects (roads, highways, staging, wet utilities, etc.), and knowledge of OPSS specifications.

Experience in bridge building, structural steel, concrete works considered an asset.
You have an advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control and engineering drawings.
You have the ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes, and produce workable solutions.
Working knowledge of scheduling, project management, and contract software
