Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, as our Human Resources Specialist, you are an ambassador of NVA Canada, you love making connections, meeting new people and building meaningful relationships.

You are multi-faceted with a great mix of problem solving and interpersonal communication skills, which enables you to succeed in a highly collaborative and fast-paced work environment.

The Human Resources role will be the first point of contact to our hospital teams and support our employees with exceptional customer service, self-service resources, and expertise on company policies.

This role is responsible for triaging enquiries for the broader Canada HR team, identifying trends to inform process improvements, and driving those improvements to completion.

As an HR Specialist, you have the opportunity to manage day-to-day employee relations issues, HR processes and continuous improvement initiatives.


What You'll Do:


  • Act as the first point of contact for HR support requests, such as, but not limited to policy/procedure interpretation, exit interviews and various employee relations issues and route to appropriate person/team.
  • Prepare various administrative correspondences, which can include; employment letters, merit increase letters, bonus letters, new hire packages, STD correspondence and process employee status changes, including promotions, transfers, and terminations.
  • Responsible for creating, maintaining and updating Human Resources information, processes and tools on intranet so that appropriate and up to date materials are available to our Community, ie: onboarding program, templates and other resources that support hospital operations.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance the employee experience based on insights from data collected from a variety of sources
  • Play a crucial role in data reporting and tracking, generating insightful reports to support decision making processes
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to streamline data collection to ensure accuracy of HR databases
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners across the HR team
  • Manage confidential files and other privileged information in a professional manner
  • Support and act as a backup for HR Business Partner team in various areas as needed
  • Post open jobs and manage the applicant pipeline for open positions related to Corporate
  • Recruitment.
  • Other duties as assigned

What makes someone a good fit?

  • 3+ years of Human Resources experience ideally in a corporate or retail environment.
  • College diploma or university degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent

  • Requires excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.

  • Technologically savvy, including proficiency with MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • French speaking would be an asset.
  • Ability to work in a flexible hybrid work environment
