Job Description:
MEDFAR is growing and is looking for an Assistant Controller to join our Team.

Main Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the full accounting cycle, including monthend and yearend close, financial reporting, and compliance with Canadian accounting standards.
- Help lead and mentor the Canadian accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Participate in Employee Development Plans as well as Continuous Improvement
- Enhance and enforce Team Accountability and procedures in both AR and AP functions.
- Improve Collectability of Organization through monitoring of KPIs.
- Collaborate with the US operations team to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting across both entities.
- Help maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Help prepare and manage the audit process for the Canadian entity, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely completion of audit deliverables.
- Help prepare consolidated financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to key stakeholders to support decisionmaking.
- Help Implement and maintain internal financial controls to ensure the integrity of financial information and safeguard company assets.
- Support projectbased requirements.
- Autonomously capable of driving deadlines, initiatives, and improvements.
- Collaborate with external departments to ensure adequate Integration of newly acquired businesses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
- CPA Designation (CPA Auditor is an Asset)
- 45 years of overall pertinent experience in an accounting role
- Great understanding of Financial Reporting
- Experience in preparing Audit Engagements
- Experience in Managing a Team
- Ability to drive excellence autonomously, and ability to take initiatives
- Quality driven, detail oriented, and Customer centric
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (French and English).
- Team player; organized and structured individual.
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across different functions and geographies
- Selfstarter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience within an audit firm (asset).
- Understanding of SaaS Business Model (asset).
- Knowledge of the accounting software Sage Intacct (asset)
