This role is responsible for assisting the Project Manager with administering and controlling all aspects of the project.

This includes the creation and administration of the project plan, project documents, time reporting and financial controls; assist in maintaining project schedules, develop and maintain issue logs and project repositories of documents, prepare documents for various recurring meetings including minutes, issue logs, etc., and develop presentation documentation as required for project teams and consolidate project status reports.

This role is also responsible for producing month-end project financial reports in collaboration with the corporate project financial controller.

Your future duties and responsibilities

The Project Control Officer supports the sector and project teams by tracking and producing reports on key project initiatives such as project plans, financials, change requests, deliverables, risk and issues.


Duties and responsibilities:


  • Support Sector and Project Teams with deliverables such as status reports, project plans, meeting notes, schedules, resource plans, risk and issue tracking documents
  • Generate and Analyze invoices for accuracy and completeness and provide recommendations to the Project/Program Manager
  • Attend project/program meetings and ensure meeting notes/action plans are clearly documented and communicated
  • Responsible for data management and extraction from project management information systems and reconciliation between the systems
  • Report on internal project resources (people, capital, expenses)
  • Assist in design, development and implementation of new and ad hoc reports and templates as required
  • Assist in preparation of presentation materials (reports, charts, graphs) for senior management
  • Take initiative with ongoing process improvements/enhancements to ensure data integrity and accuracy
  • Assist with special projects as required
  • Support with project financials, look at actuals vs. forecast metrics
Required qualifications to be successful in this role

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programs/projects
  • Project Management practice experience
  • Program Management practice experience
  • Relevant industry experience as required
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Effective listening ability
  • Ability to find ways of solving or preempting problems
  • Be an effective communicator
  • Proficient in Project Management Tools such as Microsoft Project, familiar with PMBOK.
  • Understanding of cost metric tools i.e. revenue cost margins
Who we are Looking For

  • Coop/internship experience considered an asset
  • A postsecondary student who is graduating this year or a recent grad who has graduated within the past 12 months
  • Team player who adapts well to changing needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an aptitude for innovation
  • Less than 18 months of relevant work experience, excluding coop and internships
