The Maintenance Assistant (Shop Hand) works within the Maintenance Team and is responsible for performing quick lube services as well as minor mechanical repairs and other duties in an efficient and timely manner.
Responsibilities include:
- Quick lube program
- Minor repairs
- Tractor detailing, sanitization
- Decal removal
- Daily/Weekly/Monthly checklists
- General shop/yard clean up
- Customer and internal DPF filter cleaning
- Assistance in the other departments as required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Minimum Grade 12 required or enrolled in a High School Apprenticeship Program
- Interest in enrolling in the Heavy Equipment Technician program
- Must have mechanical aptitude
- Able to perform manual labour
- Adaptable and able to work independently
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Capable of multitasking and achieving required deadlines
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability and willingness to work extended periods
- Basic computer skills
