The role
Busbud is looking for a highly motivated Controller for the overall Busbud Group to join our growing finance team.

With a broad understanding of accounting and financial operations, this individual will serve as a critical leader in the finance functions of the entire Busbud family of entities, and as a partner to the Group leadership team.

Reporting to the VP of Finance, this position will have a strong focus on establishing, monitoring, and enforcing finance controls, policies and procedures at a group level.

As well, this individual will be integral to overseeing the financial management of both the Canadian and international operations


What you can expect from the opportunity:

  • Manage accumulation and consolidation of financial data from all Business Units necessary for timely and accurate reporting of business results
  • Deliver accurate monthly and quarterly consolidated financial reporting for the Group
  • Coordinate the preparation and audit of consolidated financial statements under Canadian GAAP (ASPE) as well as local statutory audits
  • Manage treasury, cash forecasting and debt management aspects, and perform a key role in fundraising
  • Manage Canadian and international taxation aspects, including compliance, strategy and transfer pricing
  • Work with the group FP&A team to analyze, summarize and report consolidated monthly operating results against budget, as well as financial trends
  • Play a key role in M&A activities of the company, particularly M&A and purchase price accounting
  • Lead the implementation of new accounting standards and ensure compliance with existing standards
  • Ensure that an effective internal control environment is in place and that the Group complies with all applicable domestic and international local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting, including transfer pricing
  • Motivate financial staff by coaching, counselling, and guiding employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Implement shortand longrange departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
  • Stay informed of developments in the financial field and of company markets affecting company operations
  • Participate in and complete special projects as assigned

How you can impress us:


  • Critical skills: Managing accounting close processes, eliminations and consolidations, M&A, audit, and financial software.
  • Master's degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA required
years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including managing a financial function in a technology company with over $50m of Annual Recurring Revenue

  • Strong knowledge of Netsuite ERP software
  • Previous experience within a Venture Capital or Private Equityowned business environment
  • Proven experience in working in an international, complex and fast moving environment
  • Competent with multicompany and multicurrency accounting
  • Proven management experience and leadership abilities. Ability to motivate, develop, and coach financial staff, as well as provide leadership and financial direction to the organization
  • Competent with automated financial data, large volumes of data from different sources and preparation of financial reports, statements, and projections
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and resultsorientation
  • Fluent in French & English
