Job Summary


The role of Change Management Specialist is to plan, develop and execute change management activities for CN's Transportation & Network Operations organization supporting various I&T projects.

The Change Management Specialist will report to the PMO/Portfolio manager and will play a key role in keeping all the stakeholder groups engaged throughout the various releases of different programs.


Main Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement and Change Preparation

  • Engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization (Executive, I&T, end users within management and unionized groups)
  • Identify impacted stakeholders and conduct impact assessments
  • Contribute to the continuous refinement of the adoption strategy and plan, in line with identified adoption risks
  • Create risk mitigation tactics to minimize resistance
  • Manage change network groups (Change Champions and Super Users)
  • Liaise with other key groups at CN and externally (Support, business units and different functions such as Finance, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, etc.)
  • Proactively identify people risks to enable successful change adoption and work collaboratively to develop and implement mitigation tactics

Training & Performance Support

  • Collaborate with Learning and Development Specialist to conduct training needs assessment
  • Support in the development of relevant training material for impacted stakeholders (job aids, presentations, system simulations, etc.)
  • Conduct training sessions and gather participants' feedback on training opportunities
  • Ensure all the communication & engagement activities align with the training strategy
Communications

  • Support leadership engagement activities
  • Develop strategic communication plans to support client groups
  • Draft communications and oversee review cycles and approvals
  • Ensure the communication plan is up to date
  • Distribute communications to internal audiences
Adoption

  • Work with program teams and change network to regularly assess stakeholder readiness, measure adoption and propose mitigation plans when necessary
  • Based on readiness and adoption results, propose change management mitigation tactics that would support the program objectives

Requirements:


Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience leading change management activities within a complex program/project
  • Familiar with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle
  • Ability to build, manage and facilitate the execution of change management plans to support the people side of business transformations.
  • Experience in implementing people, process, and technology changes across the organization, working in partnership with business functions and leadership.
  • Strong analytic and decisionmaking abilities
  • Proven ability to partner cross functionally and lead/collaborate through influence
  • Capacity to summarize complex data and visualize it in easytounderstand formats
  • Experience working in a unionized environment*.
  • Any designation for these above would be considered as an asset.

Education/Certification/Designation

  • Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Behaviour, Management, Human Resources (HR) or similar field
  • Change Management Certification (PROSCI)

Technical Skills/Knowledge

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Power Point, Excel, Access, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of software development methodology and release processes
  • Knowledge of ITSM and ITIL service management framework
  • Knowledge of Agile release processes
  • Fluently bilingual both written and verbal (English, French)
  • Solid understanding of the logistics and transportation industry
  • Any knowledge for any of the above would be considered as an asset
