Description
We are looking for a part time cook. We are a 54 unit independent seniors facility as well as the Royal Canadian Legion.

The position will include but is not limited to preparation and cooking of lunch and dinner for the residents as well as preparation and cooking of pub style food for the Lounge.

This position is part time, we are looking to fill the following shifts Monday 9-5:30 pm Tuesday and Wednesday 10:30-7 pm and weekends as needed.


  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets the required presentation standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely service

Skills:


  • Previous experience in the food industry as a cook or line cook
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to effectively collaborate with the kitchen team
  • Knowledge of proper food handling procedures and food safety regulations
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a busy kitchen environment

From $17.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:


  • Cooking: 1 year (preferred)

Language:


  • English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Food Handler Certification (preferred)
  • Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
